In Avola, between past and present, resonates an iconic grape variety: Nero d’Avola, a world-renowned native cultivar that is rediscovering new life in its homeland. The journey is far from easy, marked by climatic challenges, bureaucratic obstacles, and political difficulties that test our commitment.
However, passion and dedication reward us every time we savor the unique thrill of “Calaulisi,” a sensory experience that evokes the deep roots of our land. The name Calaulisi comes from the local dialect, born from the combination of the words “cala” (meaning lowland terrain) and “aulisi” (referring to the inhabitants and landowners, the people of Avola).
Our bottles, Calaulisi vintage 2022 and A Bolla Rosé vintage 2023, were the first to proudly bear the I.G.T. Avola Rosso and Rosato certification. Specifically, Calaulisi, produced exclusively from pure Nero d’Avola grapes grown in our vineyards in Avola, is a symbol of our pride and our ambition to embody a dream that is truly Made in Italy.
